Curtains tailoring is detail oriented craft that requires diligence, patience, and understanding of how fabric patterns should be arranged in order to create well-balanced, beautiful curtains.

Making curtains is an art. The fabric patterns have to be arranged nicely along the "waves" of the curtains in order to make the overall appearance look well-balanced and uniform. When the curtain designs are arranged out of order, even intrinsically gorgeous curtain fabrics can be made to look dull and uninteresting. Professional curtain tailors understand the importance of how fabric patterns work. For example, when making grommet curtains, curtain tailors would have to pierce holes into the curtains to install eyelets. Some people may ask, "what is the optimal distance between two holes to make the curtains look good?" Professional curtain tailors know that the rule of distance to follow is not based on some universal standard, but is rather dependent on the individual fabric designs. Some fabric designs are farther apart, therefore the holes need to be farther apart as well. For those fabric patterns that are close together, the piercing of eyelet holes would also have correspond accordingly. There is no fixed framework, the fabric designs stipulate the distance.

Professional curtain tailors understand the importance of pattern framework and how they should set the wave arrangements for curtains. Well-ordered pattern arrangements can make even dull looking curtains look stunning. in contrast, even glamorous fabric designs can be make poor looking curtains if the workmanship were done in a disheveled and sloppy manner. Beautiful curtains not only require beautiful fabrics, they also require committed, meticulous workmanship.
